‘Legend of the Seeker’ now airing

Legend of the Seeker (formerly Wizard’s First Rule), a new syndicated fantasy/action show from Xena: Warrior Princess executive producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, starts airing November 1.

The show has been renamed from its original title, Wizard’s First Rule.  It is based on a series of fantasy novels by Terry Goodkind, and is being produced by Disney/ABC and ABC studios for domestic syndication.

According to the press release:

“Wizard’s First Rule” follows the extraordinary travels of woodsman Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), who discovers his own magical powers. With the help of a mysterious woman named Kahlan (Bridget Regan) and a wise old wizard named Zedd, Richard must stop a ruthless tyrant from unleashing an ancient evil and enslaving the world.

According to TVWeek.com, X:WP alums Jay Laga’aia (Draco) and Craig Parker (Sarpedon, Bellerophon) have also joined the cast.
