Only three episodes remain

Only three episodes remain of the hit Sci-Fi channel series “Battlestar Galactica.” In recent weeks, viewers have learned who the fifth was, seen Earth destroyed by nuclear war, saw the return of a not-so-popular person who complicated matters for one of the ships crew, saw two series favorites meet a grisly demise, saw one other die at their own hand and learn more about Kara Thraces complicated, yet very revealing backstory.

In three weeks, all will be revealed. All will be known.

Here’s a quick primer to get you up to speed if you missed out on some episodes. NOTE: There are spoilers here!

The cylons and the colonials arrive on what they think is Earth only to find it destroyed by nuclear war. D’anna decides to stay behind on the dead planet and Saul learns who the fifth cylon is–Ellen, his dead wife.

Dualla took her own life when she couldn’t cope with Earth being destroyed. The loss shocks everyone aboard Galactica.

Zarek has gone back to his evil, terrorist ways and he takes Gaeta and much of Galactica’s crew along with they try to take control of Galactica and the fleet. The episode ends with Zarek and Gaeta die by firing squad. Much of the conspirators are relieved of their command, including several pilots–making the colonials rely on several of the cylons to keep them safe at night.

Sam is critically wounded in the process of taking back the ship. Kara rushes to his side and gets Romo Lamkin to help her get him to Doc Cottle. In the next episode, Sam starts to spill his guts about cylon history.

Cavil is back with Boomer, and you know that is never a good sign. We see Ellen resurrect shortly after her death in Exodus from season three. Cavill catches her up to speed. He wants information and will torture her to get it out of her. We learn that the seventh–the one who’s name shall never be spoken–is Daniel.

Here’s the kicker, Ellen and Saul are essentially the parents of the cylons. Which brings up an interesting point, considering that Saul and Ellen tried to  have kids. This harpens back to cylon thinking during season one that cylons could only conceive with humans if they were “in love.” This apparently allowed “Caprica Six” become pregnant with Saul’s baby.

Meanwhile, Tryol discovers that the Galactica is falling part and he informs Admiral Adama that it can be fixed by incorporating cylon technology into the hull of the ship. But it’s only a temporary fix. Galactica cannot jump without imploding.

Most recently, we get a glimpse of Starbuck’s troubled past with her father. In an earlier episode, we learn that the seventh cylon, Danile, mysteriously disappeared. Ellen informs the others that Cavill boxed and destroyed Daniel for whatever reasons. This chimes with Kara’s story of her father. Both Daniel and her father were gifted artists.

In the latest episode, “Someone To Watch Over Me” Kara sees the “piano man” trying to come up with a tune on the piano in the bar. He’s “not really there” we find out at the end of the episode. And the song her father taught her, is the same song that “awoke” the sleeper cylons at the end of season three. That song? “All Along the Watchtower.”

But while Kara was being trying to come to terms with anger over her father’s disappearance, Boomer used the rescuing of Ellen as a means to get Hera and take her back to Cavill. This was the plan all along. And Chief is directly responsible.

Stay tuned folks
