Entertainment Weekly online is reporting that Katherine Fugate has been discharged from Lifetime’s hit show Army Wives. It is not immediately clear, as sources say from the EW article, she was shown the door or Fugate left on her accord. The story is developing and we’ll bring you updates as they come in.

“Army Wives is a fantastic tribute to the real life heroes serving in our armed forces and I’m so happy to have been a part of it,” Fugate said in a statement. “With the show such an established hit, now seems like a logical time for me to step away and focus on developing new projects.”
‘Wives’ has weathered changes in management over the last two seasons. There has been rumored tensions between the show staff and executives with Lifetime and ABC studios.
